Support The BPO

The BPO is Florida Bound!

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra is excited to announce its first multi-city tour since the 1988 European tour and the first outside of the WNY area since Music Director JoAnn Falletta led the ensemble to Carnegie Hall in 2004 - The Florida Friends Tour March 2010!

Maestro Falletta and the BPO embark upon a five city concert tour of Florida from March 12-18, 2010 visiting Fort Lauderdale, Daytona Beach, Vero Beach, Sarasota and Gainesville with internationally renowned pianist Fabio Bidini.

The BPO is being presented in Florida alongside performers and orchestras such as the Moscow State Symphony, Houston Symphony Orchestra, Joshua Bell, Dame Kiri Te Tanawa and Lang Lang to name a few.

"Touring is an integral part of the BPO's artistic development" said JoAnn Falletta, Music Director. "We look forward to sharing the Philharmonic's vibrant blend of European sound and American flexibility, and to showcasing the unique and communicative personality of our orchestra. We feel privileged to represent our city and region as a cultural ambassador."

The Florida Friends Tour is the culmination of over three years of planning and will launch the celebration of the BPO's 75th Anniversary in 2010. Through the support and generosity of the "BPO Florida Friends" - many of whom have deep roots in Western New York - the orchestra has been able to access new sources of revenue to fund the tour, expanding the overall reach of the fundraising efforts.

Buffalo audiences can see a sneak-preview of the Florida Tour program at Kleinhans Music Hall on March 6 & 7. Click here to order tickets
