Composers Forum
Young composers apply for the opportunity to have their compositions performed for the first time by a major symphony orchestra and to receive feedback from the musicians, the conductor and renowned guest composers. This past year, Eric Ewazen lead the panel, and all participants were invited to an open rehearsal of Evelyn Glennie performing the world premiere of Eric Ewazen’s Percussion Concerto, led by JoAnn Falletta. Past guest composers have included Roberto Sierra and John Corigliano.
College Connections
Through partnerships with Canisius College, Buffalo State College, SUNY at Buffalo and SUNY at Fredonia, the Buffalo Philharmonic reaches out to young adults in a variety of programming.
