This unique partnership, generously made possible by Time Warner Cable's production and services and with support from Western New York BOCES involved 70 schools from 33 districts including: Akron, Allegany-Limestone, Amherst, Brocton, Buffalo, Clarence, Clymer, Depew, Falconer, Franklinville, Frontier, Grand Island, Hamburg, Hinsdale, Jamestown, Kenmore Tonawanda, Lakeshore, Lewiston Porter, Lyndonville, Maryvale, Newfane, Niagara Falls, Niagara Wheatfield, North Tonawanda, Orchard Park, Sherman, Silver Creek, Springville, Tonawanda, Wellsville, West Seneca, West Valley and Wilson.

"Building upon the success of last year's inaugural live broadcast the Science of Sound, we have been able to greatly expand the reach of the BPO's arts education impact in our community" said Donald Ogilvie, BPO Vice-Chair and Education Committee Chair. "In this time of decreased funding for arts programs, the BPO is leading the way in creating innovative opportunities for students to experience a live concert by building meaningful partnerships with organizations like Time-Warner Cable."

"Time Warner Cable is once again thrilled to partner with The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in presenting a unique and science-based educational concert for thousands of area students," said Scott Knaub, Area Vice President of Operations, Time Warner Cable WNY. "Through the use of our state-of-the-art services, Time Warner Cable and its Connect a Million Minds initiative creates a powerful link between the strength of our company and the needs of students throughout Western New York."

Inventions and Innovations was presented by associate conductor Matthew Kraemer and explored innovations that happened in the worlds of science and music throughout recent history. The program followed the timeline of the orchestra, from the Industrial Revolution to the present day when technology is incorporated into our music-making. Doug Borzynski from the Buffalo Museum of Science joined the orchestra on stage to demonstrate some of history's most important inventions.
